(Reposting Greg Brown's thread from Rennlist)
http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/928-forum/588882-928ss-rob-rositto-passed-away.html

Rob Rositto (known to many of you as 928SS) passed away on Tuesday, at home with his family. He had been battling a huge infection for the past couple of months and had exhausted all of the available antibiotics. He chose to spend the last few precious days with his family.

I met Rob when he asked me to build him a stroker engine. Over the years, we became good friends. Although he had, what I would call an impossible life, after he broke his back, I never heard him complain. He'd always have something clever to say, to brighten the day.

He drove this car aggressively, using the hand controls. He was a fierce competitior, before breaking his back (desert racing...went over a jump and landed hard. Didn't fall off. Was still riding, when he realized he couldn't feel his legs. He looked down and saw that his legs were flopping behind him.) and found that the 928 gave him the ability to enjoy his competative nature, at slaloms.

My heart is very heavy. We lost a great human!

PS
The medical bills were very big and I'm sure his wife is left with financial ruin. Rob mentioneded that the only assets he had left were his car and the house. I have the car with the engine removed for some work. He asked me to sell the car and the engine. He said he was sure that they would loose the house. It would be great if we could do something, as a group. Ideas? Anyone interested in a great car with a "fresh" (not even completely back together) stroker engine, let me know.

I stopped by Devito's Monday, and sad to say Jeff is showing no improvement and remains under constant care.

Tim is keeping the shop going, and visits this board from time to time if anybody has questions for him. Several of the cars at the shop are for sale as well.
